Pioneered by the giants like Amazon and followed by Walmart and Ebay, same day delivery has succeeded in bringing in customers to the website. Many consumers have expressed abandoning websites because of the long wait that they need to have to receive their products. Big retailers can earn a lot of benefits with the same day shipping but itadvisable that the small retailers concentrate on the less risky features like free shipping, etc. The challenges that the same day delivery faces are the lack of a proper market density and consumer demand. Same day delivery raises the expectation of the consumers. This increases the market for the retailer.

Same day delivery may sound like the ideal way to increase a website’s traffic. But this is better said than done. Making a same day delivery require that the retailer has stock of verything that they update on the website everyday. This is difficult to manage and costs are doubled manifold.

Same day delivery is a great option for businesses with a huge market. It has it’s own benefits and risks. Use or not to use, it is the retailer’s decision.
