Magik Pricedrop Alert is an innovative magento extensions that make it easy for customers to set-up a price drop alert for products that they are interested in. When customers are on product detail pages Price drop Alert allows you to retain customer interest by allowing them to set-up a quick alert for price drops on the product by entering their email addresses. This not only brings them back when the price drops, but it also grows your email subscriber list and engages your customers for the long term. Pricedrop Alert extension will add a button image in the front end on product details page. On click of this button a light box will open & will ask for your email address. After submitting your email id this extension will keep the track of price for a particular product & will send you the alert if product price drops after you followed particular product price. Customers can unsubscribe to Pricedrop subscription anytime from My Account dashboard.

Pricedrop Alert Settings

From settings option admin can change the text that will be displayed on the pop up light box Also admin can add custom image that will shown to customer on front end. Admin can also customize the email subject & body content that is sent to customer informing the Pricedrop of the product they are following. For email customization admin can use predefined custom variables which are as follows –
{product_name} – Display Product Name
{follow_price} – Price of particular product customer was following
{current_price} – Current price of the product
{unsubscribe_link} – Unsubscribe link to add in email.

Subscribe to Pricedrop Alert

On product details page customer can see the image with text “Follow the price” or some custom text image, on click of this a pop up light box will open up with a form asking customer email address. Once customer adds his/her email & submit the form, customer will be subscribed to particular product Pricedrop alert. Whenever the price for particular products goes down or some special discount is applied to the product all customers who have subscribed to that product will be notified by email. Excellent extension to bring your client back to their interested products on your store.

Cron Setting

Finally you need to setup “magento/cron.php” on your server’s CRON tab to execute it daily/weekly or as per your own requirement. Once setup, the CRON will send an email to subscribed customers when price drops.
